Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER JAMES (PETE) POITRAS Walter James Pete Poitras, born on December 9, 1939 in St. Boniface, passed away June 14, 2007 in Vernon, BC, after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his mother Florence; father Walter James; brother Norman, and one grandson Matthew Chanel. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara; two daughters, Anne-Marie (Rene Chanel), Giselle (Mark Carleton); two sons, Daryl Poitras (Rachelle), Brian Dutchin (Kelly), and his grandchildren, Daniel Poitras, Andre Chanel, Nathalia Chanel, Janae Carleton, Ryan Carleton, Laura Carleton, Bradley Dutchin and Connor Dutchin. He will also be remembered by his sister Darlene (Terry Lapointe), extended family and friends. As well Uncle Pete will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Pete's life will be held on August 5, 2007 on his patio in Vernon, BC in lieu of a service. Donations may be made to the British Columbia Cancer Society or Vernon and District Hospice Society.
