HOWARD BEGGS July 10, 1970 - June 16, 2007 Howard Beggs, 36 years, died suddenly of cancer on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Howie was born in Red Lake, Ontario. He was a big fellow. His path through life was difficult and his burdens often heavy, but he was kind, laughed easily and made many friends along his way. He will be sadly missed by Valentina (Val) Monkman, his best friend and life partner. They brought joy to each other's lives. Howie was the youngest in his family. Parents, Jim and Carol; sisters and brothers, Edna McPherson, Rob (Jill), Jennifer, Ty (Mecat), and Kim (who he was especially close to) will always treasure his place in their hearts and memories. Howie leaves his Auntie Liz; cousins, Micah and Andrea; friend Patti Beggs, and nieces and nephews, Wendy, Tim, Spencer, Jade, Aisha, Jessalyn and Scarlett, and all his other aunts, uncles and cousins. Often called Bear in his Winnipeg community, Howie will be missed there by Rose Monkman; his blood sister Donna Penner, and his many friends. A memorial service will be held for Howard Beggs at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel at 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Visitation 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, services 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. A buffet lunch will follow the services.
