BETTY JANE (GOLAS) RAMSDEN (nee ANDERSON) On Sunday, June 17, 2007, at the Health Sciences Centre, with family at her side, Betty Ramsden went home to be with Jesus. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Alvida Anderson, and by her first husband Frank. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald; children, James, Sarah, Rebekah (Clarence), Stephen (Tracy), Thomas (Brenda), Rachel, Ruth (Brenden), and Daniel; grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Adam, Jasmine, Michael, Alyssa, Samantha, Jamie, Zachary, Nathaniel, Jesse, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Rorie and Dante; brothers, Dale (Janet) and Kenneth (Pamela), and sister Lois (Marlin); numerous nephews and nieces and extended family. Betty was born on June 19, 1942 near Farwell, Minnesota, and moved to Fisher Branch, Manitoba, when she married Frank Golas in 1963. Together they raised their eight children. She was a loving mother who worked very hard. Widowed in 1982, she continued to raise her family alone until she married Ronald Ramsden in 1986. Ron and Betty shared 21 years of happily married life together. They enjoyed a quiet life, sharing their faith and providing a home for family to come back to. Betty loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was also a wonderful cook and even compiled her own cookbook. A service will be held on Friday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian National Home in Fisher Branch, Manitoba, the Rev. Marvin Simmons officiating.
