BRIAN JOHN RANKIN Brian John Rankin, beloved husband of Jean Marie Rankin (Pestawka), was born on December 4, 1942, in Holland, Manitoba, to John and Jessie Rankin, of Killlarney, Manitoba. Brian worked for Manitoba Hydro for 35 years in various parts of the province. He then retired in 1997. He met Joan in Vita, Manitoba, where he worked. They were married in Winnipeg, Manitoba, later moving to Baldur and then his hometown of Killarney in which he retired as District Supervisor for Manitoba Hydro. Brian is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughter Tricia (Scott Steinke), grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin, Jesse, Lane; daughter Jacqueline (Dennis Kowal), grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas and only granddaughter Stephanie; son Cory Rankin; sisters, Marion (Alva) Jones, Eleanor (Morris Birrell), Margaret; brother Roy; brother-in-law James Pestawka; also surviving are Brian's many nieces and nephews who were so very respected by Brian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. Thank you to Dr. Rubinger and the many doctors and nurses who looked after Brian. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Wheatland Chapel, Killarney, MB. Killarney Funeral Home 204-523-7791

I worked with Bryan in Roblin Manitoba when the Shellmouth Dam was being constructed. We were re-routing lines in the area. We had a great group of guys, and Brian was one of the best. My condolences to all family and friends-Lynn - Posted by: Lynn Jones (Friend- Co worker) on: Jan 09, 2013
