CELSO CABRAL BERNARDO It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, the greatest dad, fantastic brother, dearest uncle and the best brother-in-law, Celso Cabral Bernardo, on August 6, 2007. His father Olimpio Bernardo predeceased him. Celso will be missed by his wife Maria Lydia of 27 years, his two children Michael and Diana, his mother Erlinda Bernardo, numerous brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends here in Canada and the Philippines. We would all agree that he was a unique individual. Despite his seemingly tough exterior, long hair, torn jeans and all, Celso would always surprise us with his warmth and kind personality. His selflessness and generosity towards others was never driven by obligation, but rather his love for his family. Whether it was cleaning the house for his wife, bringing food and treats for his nephews and nieces or plowing through a monstrous blizzard just to pick up tickets to the latest Harry Potter film for his daughter, those people that he loved were always his priority. Celso will always be remembered for his good sense of humour. Lamay (viewing) will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12, 2007, 6:00 p.m. to midnight, at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 13, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
