JOYCE BEATRICE PRYMAK It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Joyce Prymak, on August 9, 2007 at Kin Place Personal Care Home with the love and comfort of her family by her side, at the age of 70. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Myron in 1997, parents, Beatrice and Walter Maradyn, and mother-in-law Mary Prymak. She will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by her daughters, Lynda (Clarence), Donna (Peter), son Donald (special friend Kara), and grandchildren, Alyssa, Katryna, Justin and Aleesha, who were her pride and joy, and brother Jack Maradyn (Grace). Joyce was born in Winnipeg on January 18, 1937 along with her twin brother Jack. She grew up in Transcona and made Transcona her home until her retirement when Mom and Dad moved to their acreage in St. Clements. Mom was employed with the Toronto Dominion Bank for 27 years and retired in 1994. Although Mom worked full time she always found time to attend to her children's activities and later on could be found cheering on her grandchildren at their events. She was very proud of their involvement in hockey, soccer, baton, singing, piano and Ukrainian Dancing. Mom loved to play the piano, sing and enjoyed dancing. She was always on the dance floor at every social function she attended. Mom was very talented and did beautiful cross stitch, which was evident in the Ukrainian blouses and pictures she had made. Regardless of where Mom went, she could be seen with her knitting needles in tow, whipping up a sweater, afghan, hat and mitts or baby clothes. Mom took a number of computer courses and became very talented with her computer skills. Her greatest passion was shopping and she had the knack to find those matching shoes, purse, earrings and jewellery to go with her never ending wardrobe. Mom was a member of the Ladies Association at church and was always willing to help out when needed. She was Dad's personal assistant devoting countless hours by helping him with his involvement with the Transcona Railers Hockey Team and with his Union job at the Railway. Mom had the opportunity to travel with Dad on his assignments with the Railway to numerous Canadian spots and especially enjoyed the trips down to Cleveland, Ohio. Mom truly enjoyed life! Unfortunately, life for all of us changed in 2001, exactly one month prior to Mom turning 65. Mom suffered a stroke which left her paralysed on her left side. While Mom could no longer be as active as she once was, she always enjoyed family get togethers and visits from family and friends over the years. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home for always being so supportive, kind and caring to Mom. Thank-you for accommodating the family and providing the comfort to us during this difficult time. Also, thank-you to Harold and Lillian Skazyk, for being such special friends to our parents over the years and to Aunty Anne Hudyma and cousin Virginia Snyder for always being there for us and for their guidance and support. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Parish, 1500 Day Street. Funeral Rite will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with the Very Rev. Bill Wasyliw officiating. Burial at the Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Skazyk, Ron Cwiak, Gary Abbott, Al Snyder, Brad Snyder, Dr. David Maradyn and Justin Jacobs. Mom, Thank-you for your love, support and guidance over the years. You have taught us great values and respect which has made us who we are today. Your vibrant love of family and life will always be remembered and treasured. Our love for you is too deep to measure and too special to describe by mere words. We will love you forever and you will live deep within our hearts. We will always hold our respect and admiration for you. We were truly blessed to have you as our mother! Love, your children. We will always love you and miss you Grammy! VICHNAYA PAM'YAT If friends so desire, donations may be made to Kin Place Personal Care Home, 680 Pine Drive, Box 28, Oakbank, Manitoba, R0E 1J0, in memory of Joyce Prymak. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
