CRAIG BEISCHER Suddenly at home on August 30, 2007, Craig Beischer passed away at the age of 68. Craig is survived by his wife Cynthia, his sons, Duane (Diane) and Dean, his grandson Tye and granddaughter Danika. He also leaves his mother Grace, and sisters, Paula (Ernie) and Claudia. He was predeceased by his father Paul in 1992. Born in Winnipeg, October 4, 1938 to Paul and Grace Beischer, he spent his younger years in Winnipeg, moving to Fort William (now Thunder Bay) in 1949. He enjoyed his youth growing up in Fort William. He returned to Winnipeg in 1961. In 1964 Craig joined his parents at the family business, Norgrove Motor Parts, taking over when his father died, where he remained until his death. In 1966 Craig married Cynthia (nee Copeland) and they enjoyed 41 years together raising their two sons. While in Thunder Bay, Craig started his love of stock car racing something he continued on his return to Winnipeg. For many years Craig was announcer at the old Brookland Speedway and then Winnipeg Speedway. He continued to follow his love of racing, traveling in either the motor home or with friends to numerous races over the years. Craig enjoyed many years and many campfires while riding dirt bikes and camping in the hills near Spruce Woods with his family and close friends. As his sons grew older he enjoyed seeing them enjoy racing their dirt bikes. He especially enjoyed seeing grandson Tye continuing the tradition. Wintertime brought out snowmobiles. Later, he enjoyed street motorcycles and his Wednesday night ride with the Geritol Angels and the motorcycle vacation trips taken with friends. He felt lucky to have enjoyed his love of travel having gone to parts of Europe, South America, Morocco and a Panama Canal Cruise and with the motor home to many places in the United States and Canada. In the last few years his greatest joy was spending time with grandson Tye and granddaughter Danika. He enjoyed watching them grow from babies to little independent people and always had his camera ready for the perfect shot. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
