RICHARD J. L. POIRIER July 30, 1935 - September 3, 2007 Suddenly at Millers Campground, Monday, September 3, 2007 Richard passed away. Husband of Norma, for 52 years; father of two children, Lawrence (Lorie), Pat (Bob); grandchildren, Denise (Wade), Bradley, Melissa, Leslie (Jason), Shannon and Robyn. Predeceased by his father Armand, mother Mary, brothers, Armand and Oliver. Leaving to mourn sisters, Mildred, Rose (Roger); brother Donald (Doreen); sisters-in-law, Estelle and Betty; brother-in-law Carl (Linda), many nieces and nephews. Richard was employed at Deer Lodge Centre for 31 years where he was known as Dick . He retired at 55 years of age. He loved his retirement, was an avid hunter, carpenter, and loved music above all. Camping was a big part of his life, he spent 24 years at Millers, loved horseshoes and cribbage games and garage sales. Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
