EMILY (KERRI) PUTTAERT It is with deep sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Emily on Friday, September 14, 2007, at the Grace Hospice at the age of 93 years. Emily leaves to cherish her memory her children, David (Barbara) and Gary (Brenda), her grandchildren Angela (Dustin) and Erin (David) and her special friend and companion Thelma McDermid. Emily will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends. Emily was predeceased by her husband George, her sisters Minnie, Annie and Margaret, her sister-in-law Kay and brother-in-law Raymond. Emily was born in England where she met and married George in 1942. She came to Canada as a war bride and together they raised two children. Emily enjoyed baking and knitting gloves and scarves for all. Emily and George spent many happy years going in the winter months to their retirement home in Marion Oaks, Florida. Emily enjoyed life, was passionate about her children and grandchildren, providing support and encouragement. Cremation has taken place and at Emily's request, no service will be held. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Ward in St. Boniface Hospital and Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can he made to CancerCare Manitoba. Emily touched many lives and was especially known for her good nature, kind heart and enormous generosity and will be sadly missed by all.
