She was predeceased by her father, Norman (Rusty) Thompson and brother, Roy Thompson. Bonnie was not alone when she died. Her partner, Jack Oppeboen, and her sister, Judy, held her hands and spoke with her as she passed from this life to the next. This world's new angel, Bonnie, left us hearing the encouraging words, fly like an eagle. Born in Rivers, Manitoba in 1948, Bonnie lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba most of her life. She was an editor of several publications at Farm Business Communications and was a dedicated employee with them for 25 years. When the writer's learned of Bonnie's illness, they often sent her words of encouragement and told her how she encouraged them in their writing. Bonnie's first love in life was animals. She adopted her dog, Roxy, and her two cats, Jinx and Pepi, from the Winnipeg Humane Society. She was artistic and loved creating screens, chairs and garden decorations from willow and concrete. Bonnie also painted lovely gifts and was a talented seamstress. Her gifts adorn many friend's and relative's homes. One of her greatest sewing achievements was a memory quilt she prepared out of denim jeans for her late brother, Roy. What people will miss about Bonnie is her kindness, quick wit, sweetness, charm and her love of nature and animals. On Saturday, September 29 Bonnie's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue) with Rev.
