HENRY PODEALUK It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of father and grandfather, Henry Podealuk of Beausejour, MB on Friday, October 12, 2007. He leaves behind son Greg of Beausejour, son Tom and grandsons, Michael and David of Robson, BC and daughter Heni, son in-law Dennis Hewitt of Beausejour and granddaughter Nadya, of Winnipeg. The last surviving of ten children, Dad was predeceased by his wife Lida in November, 2002. Dad was born in Ethelbert, MB on February 16, 1917 and was raised in Vegreville, AB. He met Mom in Clear Lake, MB and married and raised three children in Grandview, MB. In 1967, the family moved to Beausejour and Dad resided here until his passing. Dad was a very civic-minded man and belonged to many local organizations throughout his life; he served overseas in World War II and loved to talk about that time with other veterans. When he settled in Grandview, and later Beausejour, he joined most of the local organizations to help make the world a better place for his children. We shall miss his ever-present sense of humour, his very dry wit and words of advice and wisdom. At Dad's request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Dad's final wishes were for no mourning or brouhaha. In celebration of his life and if friends so desire, donations may be made to the St. James Anglican Church in Beausejour, MB.
