ORESTE CALESSO It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Oreste Calesso on Sunday, October 28, 2007. Oreste was predeceased by his twin brother Angelo in 2001, his parents Paolo and Pierina, and his brothers Ernesto and Luigino. Oreste's brother Antonio would like to thank the staff at Poseidon Care Centre, where Oreste has resided since 2001, for the care they provided over the years. Oreste will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his brother Antonio of Winnipeg, his nephew Francesco and his family of Calgary, his nephew Renato and his family of Winnipeg and his remaining brothers, sisters and their families in Italy and Germany. Oreste was born on May 21, 1930, in the small town of Spresiano in the Veneto region of Treviso in northern Italy. He came to Canada with Angelo in December 1956 to join his brother Antonio in Winnipeg. On his arrival in Winnipeg, Oreste first worked for the Canadian National Railway. Oreste later joined his brother Antonio to work in the construction industry, first at Prall Construction and later for Theilen Construction where he worked until his retirement in 1990. Oreste also enjoyed spending many hours with his brothers fishing and hunting in the Manitoba wilderness. Since their birth, Oreste and his twin brother Angelo spend their entire lives together, first in Italy as children and then in Winnipeg as adults. Just as they shared each other's joys and sorrows in life they will now share each other's company for eternity. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Blvd., with Rev. Sam Argenziano officiating. Interment will follow in the Waverly Memorial Gardens.
