Kenneth is survived by Sylvia Shirley, his loving wife of 68 years, his son Ken Thurlbeck (Ann), and his daughters, Dawna Minchin (Rob) and Deborah Thurlbeck (Justin), his brother Ray Thurlbeck (Grace) and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. After serving as a Chief Petty Officer First Class with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 - 1945 he returned to his civilian career with CNR in Winnipeg, MB until his retirement as a carshop supervisor in 1979. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Pallative Response Team and Juan de Fuca support staff who provided exceptional care and compassion during Kenneth's final weeks. To honour his wishes, no service will be held. The family will gather for a celebration of his life in Winnipeg at a later date.
