MARILYNE (DARLYNE) PUNAK It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Wife, Mom, and Sister after a lengthy illness. Peacefully passing at home in the early hours of December 10, 2007, with her husband and sons at her side. Predeceased by her mother Vera Belle Leslie Kennedy, father Charles Joseph Kennedy, and brothers, Robert, Carl, and Norman Leslie. Darlyne is survived by John, her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, sons, Brad and Ryan, sisters, Bertha Ray, Vera (John) Falk, Laura Gardewine, Ialeen (Art) Pargeter, and June (Harold) Imhoff. Darlyne also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends that held such a special place in her heart. Darlyne was born in Birch River, MB, in 1944, the youngest of nine brothers and sisters. She worked at both Birks and the Canadian Grain Exchange in Winnipeg prior to moving to the Vancouver area. In both Coquitlam and Surrey, BC, and again in Winnipeg, she lovingly cared for and raised her family as well as periodically worked in retail at the Bay and Birks, and in the community as a school and care aide. Di to her sisters was very fond of flowers and gardening, was an avid reader, had an eye for antiques and fine objects, and loved to make holiday crafts and decorate our homes. She also greatly loved and cared for animals, especially our family dogs Daisy, Blue, and Alex. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital as well as to the staff, nurses, and coordinators who lovingly helped care for our mom at home. A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. in Winnipeg, on Thursday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlyne's memory may be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society, #105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL (204)586-8044
