MARIA (BABCIA) PODBORACZYNSKI Peacefully, with her family at her side, on December 23, 2007 at Maples Personal Care Home, at the age of 104 years, Maria Podboraczynski, beloved mother and grandmother, was chosen by the Angels to join God in Heaven. Maria is survived by her daughter Danuta and her son-in-law Peter along with her grandchildren, Alina (Dan), Joe (Marie) and Richard (Lorena) and great-grandson Anthony. She also leaves to mourn her passing many close relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Maria will finally be re-united with her husband Stanislaw, who departed this life in 1972, along with her parents, brothers and sisters who have passed away over the years. Maria, her husband and daughter immigrated to Canada from Poland in December 1959 with the help of her sisters and nephew Joe Bajurny and settled in Winnipeg. Throughout her life, Maria was our mountain of strength and the heart of our family. She was always there for anyone who needed help, no matter if they were family, friend or stranger. She was everyone's Guardian Angel. We would like to thank the Staff of Maples Personal Care Home who so caringly looked after our Babcia as well as all of our relatives and friends who gave us their love and support. Viewing will be at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Avenue at 12:30 p.m. on December 29 followed by Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fr. H. Uczniak and Rev. Fr. H. Laciak. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
