WALTER POLISCHUK March 28, 1937 - January 1, 2008 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our Husband, Father and Grandfather Didi Walter Polischuk, 70 years, of Woodmore. Walter was an active individual. He served as councilor for the R.M. of Franklin, licensed area blaster, school trustee for the Boundary School Division, Vita and District Health foundation member. His talents for creating useful items on the farm include: the Swamp Buggy and too many other items to mention. He was employed seasonally with Pott Trucking/Construction. He also completed his exams to acquire his pilot's license. During his lifetime he enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, fishing, hunting, welding and flying as well as giving a lot of his time to helping others. These attributes served Walter well to his final heartbeat and breath. Left to mourn his passing his loving wife Katherine of 48 years, his children, Betty Polischuk, Nick Polischuk (Shelagh), Pauline Christiuk (Orest), and Danny Polischuk (Marilyn) and his 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Craig, Andrea, Krista (Kris), Lisa, Matthew, Stephanie, Jennifer, Stephen and Wayne, as well as his mother Anne Baranowski, his sisters, Jean Slobodzian and Elsie Bialkowski (Stanley) and their children, numerous friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his father Paul, and sister Kathleen in infancy, brother-in-law Steve Slobodzian and daughter-in-law Debbie. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. with viewing one half hour prior to the service at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel, Vita, Manitoba. In accordance with Walter's wishes cremation will take place following the service with a private family interment at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Vita and District Health Centre for their care and support, Mike Giesbrecht of Vita Funeral Home for his compassion, also Reverend Dr. Gregory Zubacz for his spiritual guidance.
