In the morning hours of Wednesday, January 16, 2008, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Antonio Ilano Quinto Sr. (aka D Founder ) passed away peacefully, surrounded with love by his family at the age of 74. Antonio is predeceased by his father and mother, Pilar Ilano and Florentino Quinto, and sister Nitang. He is also predeceased by his beloved wife of many years, Sergia Frani Quinto. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 15 years, Veronica Legaspi Quinto and his eight sons: Gerry (Baby) of Maryland, Odey (Ellen) of California, Aman (Nelia) of the Philippines, Antonio Jr. (Evelyn), Pop (Jonna), Larry (Yvette), Ruel (Mae), and Dennis (Emily) all of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his brother and sisters: Edith, Boy, Tessie, Baby, and Bilit of the Philippines. In addition, left to cherish with their memories the time they had shared with their grandfather are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Gary (Annette, Jasmine, Ty, Kylie) and Sheryl (Jewel, Jaden, Nathan, Jazlynn) both of Maryland, Kevin of California, Jamie (aka Jembong-Putobungbong ), Jessthony, Demi, Angelica, Chelsea, Kayla, Aaron and Nathaniel. Antonio will also be missed by other numerous relatives and friends throughout Canada, the United States and the Philippines. A special appreciation to those that were by his side Marivic, Tomas, Gloria, Cheryl, Charlene, Binong, Rose, Patricia, Ina, Tess, Jay, Gudeng, Mercy, Aling, Benny, Tessie, Noel, Edith, Boy, Tessie and to his many friends and loved ones. A special thank you to his sister-in-law, Carol and nephew, Simon, for their endless support. Antonio was born in Malagasang, Imus, Cavite, Philippines in 1933. He worked in Saudi Arabia for a few years as a trailer driver. He came to Canada in 1988 and worked at Ryan Forrest until his retirement. During his years of retirement, he enjoyed many things in life - especially fishing with loved ones. The family would like to express their appreciation to their family physician, Dr. Padua and to the medical and nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre. In particular, the wards of GD3, GH4, ICU and to Dr. Horton, Dr. Ilan, nurses Melanie, Cathy and Dave for their care and kindness during the last moments in his life. Lamay (viewing) will be held on Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25 at Glen Eden, 4477 Main Street from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008. Details about the funeral will be announced during the Lamay.
