MARY POLSON (nee MYKYTYN) September 20, 1914 February 13, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Mary Polson at 93 years young, at Concordia Hospital. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marilyn (Don) Partrick of Brandon, grandson Jeff (Teresa Janz) Partrick, her great-grandchildren, Maya and Brandon Partrick of Ottawa, and also her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter, brother Stephen, sisters, Rose, Anne, infant brother Joseph, and sister Helen. Mary was the fourth of six children born to Simeon and Katherine Mykytyn in 1914 in Winnipeg, MB. In 1935, she married her soul mate, Peter and they had a loving life together until his passing in 1980. During her younger years, Mary enjoyed playing baseball, was an active participant in the ladies curling league at the Rossmere Golf and Country Club and also bowled in East Kildonan Ladies' leagues. For many years, she was President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ice Club of Greater Winnipeg and remained a serious figure skating fan throughout her lifetime. Mary was fiercely independent until her final days. She remained in her own home, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and was always very proud of her yard and flowers. She enjoyed traveling with her children, especially her visits to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren in Ottawa. Family was always of paramount importance to Mary and her greatest pleasures came from just being with them. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Father Pierre officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
