JOHN PETER POETS It is with great sadness our beloved father and grandfather, John Poets, was gently called home to God on February 18, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital. John was predeceased by his wife Henriette in 2001, whom he loved dearly; his parents Frank and Petronela. Also by his siblings, Charles, Arthur, William, Alphonsus, Henry and Elizabeth. He will be remembered by his children, Diane (Dennis), son Nelson; his grandchildren, Joel (Tammy), Ryan and Mark, and his cat Sabrina. He is survived by nephews, nieces, relatives and friends in U.S.A, Canada, Belgium and Thailand. Dad was born in Lommel, Belgium in 1907 and immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1921. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and husband. He always had a positive outlook on life and was a very hard working, honest individual. Dad lived in his home independently up to the age of 100. He loved gardening and looked forward to spring. John was a strong Roman Catholic and believed in his God and Saviour. Thank you for all that you have done, we pray that God has given you the crown you so truly deserve. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 250 Burrin Ave. Cremation will follow and interment will be held at a later date. You never asked for favours, Yet you did them everyday, You never asked for help, And yet you gave so much away.
