ANNE PROSKURNIAK (nee SERENCHUK) Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Anne passed away on March 20, 2008 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Anne was born on May 30, 1929 in Gilbert Plains, MB. She married Harry on August 31, 1946. Together they worked closely running a General Store in Timberton, MB., and moved to Winnipeg in 1954. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Harry in November 2000. Left to celebrate her life are her beloved children, Marian (Thomas) and Mel (Cindy); five grandchildren, Aynslie, Selena, Steven (Kristen), Andy and Travis; sisters, Lorraine (Don) Harris of Yorkton, SK., and Leona Freeman of Winnipeg, along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Mom found exceptional joy in spending time with her family and grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly. Family gatherings were most special. Mom truly enjoyed her Monday craft group, and her special friends at the Concordia and Middlechurch day programs. The family would like to extend their tanks to the doctors and staff at Kildonan Medical Centre, the Oncology Department, and the nursed and staff of the 3rd floor, Unit 4 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave. In lie of flowers, donations can be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church or Cancer Care Manitoba.
