JOHN (JACK) EDGAR PROUSE Peacefully on March 28, 2008 with his family by his side, John passed away at the age of 89 in the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. John was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, son Douglas and sister Phyllis. He is survived by his sister Joyce Frandsen, son Gordon (Valerie); daughter Barbara Doll (Gil); grandchildren, Kyla, Travis (Alethea), Scott, Meghan, Lonnie (Mike), Kyle, Garth, Laura and six great-grandchildren. John was born November 13, 1918 in Winnipeg and attended Kelvin High School. He married Phyllis Hunter on November 21, 1942. During the war years he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. John was a great conversationalist and took delight in meeting new people. His career was spent as a Manufactures Agent and he was instrumental in introducing Seiko watches and himself to western Canada. John and Phyllis enjoyed summers at the cottage at Whytewold Beach. For many years John was active in the Shriners and Jesters. John and Phyllis travelled and had fun vacationing in Florida and Hawaii with friends. In his later years he lived at The Wellington where he enjoyed the people and activities. The family wishes to thank the staff and nursing students of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and support of both John and the family. Cremation has taken place and at his request, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation (Palliative Care) or CancerCare Manitoba. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
