Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryASSUNTA (ANTONIETTA) PRENCIPE (nee RUSSILLO) August 6, 1950 April 22, 2008 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their mother, Assunta Prencipe on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 peacefully in her home at the age of 57 years. Assunta was predeceased by her husband Michele. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her daughters; Filomena (Fabrizio) Di Nella, and Franca (Dion) Semeniuk; granddaughters Brianna and Ashley; her sister Geraldina (Antonio) Crusco from Italy; brother-in-law Francesco (Giovanna) Prencipe, as well as numerous relatives from Canada and Italy. Assunta was born in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Italy on August 6, 1950 and came to Canada in 1967 to start her new life with Michele. Soon after, she had the loves of her life, Filomena and Franca that she raised with great pride and joy. The biggest joy though came when her two granddaughters Brianna and Ashley arrived who always put a smile on her face from ear to ear. What made her most happy was just being able to spend time with her family, having lunch on Sundays, going to the park, taking the family out for an afternoon ice cream, or just being able to sit on her deck, enjoy the sun, look at her flowers and watch her granddaughters play in her backyard. Through all her struggles in life that was thrown at Mom, she would never complain and always had an ear for anyone that needed to talk. She always made sure that anyone that walked into her home was well fed and never left on an empty stomach. People that had the pleasure of meeting Assunta would agree that she was a very special person that has touched the lives of many people and will always be remembered as a strong, independent, and extremely courageous individual who always thought of everyone before herself. Her strong faith in God and heart of gold made her that special person she was and will always be remembered for. We never thought this day would come where we would have to say good-bye like this, but we know that you are in a place where you are at peace, without suffering, and that someday, we will all be together again. We love you so much, and will greatly miss you Mom and Nonna !!! Our family greatly appreciated the numerous loving relatives, friends, and neighbors that visited, talked with her on the phone daily, kept in touch and cared for her during all the past years. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the homecare workers for the love and support they gave to mom through the years, you were like part of the family. As well, her two special friends Freda and Marilyn. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue.
