JANET REID BEAUMONT March 13, 1930 - April 25, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Reid Beaumont on April 25, 2008, at Park Manor Personal Care Home, at the age of 78 years. Janet Reid Beaumont was born March 13, 1930 in the front bedroom of her family home. Janet's parents, Scottish immigrants, raised Janet and her brother Bill in the close knit community of Transcona, Manitoba, where she met and married the boy next door in 1951, Luman, her loving husband. Janet was predeceased by her father George, 1966, brother Bill, 1983, and mother Agnes, 1991. Janet attended Central School, Grades 1 - 12, and during those years she formed loyal and lifetime friendships with Noreen, Vi, and Lillian, just to name a few. Janet and Luman raised three children, Janice (daughter Kaitlin), Lee (son Jordan and daughter Nancy), and Cindy (husband Rick). Janet focused her unconditional love and energy on her family, translating Shakespeare, typing essays and thesis', cooking (the best Tea Biscuits in town!) and running the family home. Janet's interests were varied and many. She was an avid and eclectic reader, puzzler, artist, seamstress, knitter, cyclist, bargain hunter, volunteer, and long-time member of the Rebekah Lodge. Mom and Dad enjoyed long walks and world travels, spanning the South Pacific and Asia on their final trip together. Generous, kind, caring, thoughtful, loving, sensitive, loyal, philanthropic, and intelligent are just a few words to describe a woman who meant so much to her family, friends, and community. Janet will be sorely missed, her life and spirit taken from us by the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease. She will forever be lovingly held in our hearts and our minds. Mom we miss you, but you will never be far from our thoughts. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. Our sincere and heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of the staff and volunteers of the Park Manor Personal Care Home where Janet spent her final days. Funeral arrangements in care of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE (AT BOND) 224-1525
