Date of Passing: May 13, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET BEGGS (nee MAIR) In the early morning of May 13, 2008 a kind and gentle lady slipped away. Margaret's life and love will be forever cherished by her husband of 54 years, Tom; daughter Carol (Chuck); grandsons Thomas and Sean; daughter Diane's family Steve; granddaughters, Lisa, Kristin and Terri. Also surviving are her sister Isabel (Gordon); nieces Susan and Colleen and so many dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Diane and parents William and Mary. Margaret grew up in the West-End of Winnipeg, attending Somerset and Hugh John MacDonald Schools and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. As a young woman, she worked for Steven's Paint and Safeway in the payroll department before settling down with Tom to raise their two daughters in Windsor Park and Southdale. Once the girls were grown she returned to work for the Bay until her retirement. Many happy summers were spent entertaining family and friends at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach. She and Tom were also fortunate enough to enjoy 20 years of retirement in Westlaco, Texas, where their network of friends grew and grew. Margaret lived her life by caring and thinking of others before herself. She gave us all so much and we are eternally grateful for having had her in our lives. During her final journey, Margaret was surrounded by family and friends who made sure she knew how much they loved her. For this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A special thanks to all the health care professionals who shared in taking care of Margaret these past months. A celebration of Margaret's life will take place Friday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
