Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVINA THOMAS On May 17, 2008 at the Red River Place in Selkirk, Alvina Thomas, aged 88 years, formerly of Balsam Bay, MB. Alvina was born in Balsam Bay on October 28, 1919 and lived there until moving to Winnipeg in 1971. She has lived with her son-in-law Rick (Bev) for the past 29 years. Alvina enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, watching soaps and baking bread. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin and daughter Beverley Lowing, and leaves surviving children Eileen (Al), Ralph (Elaine), Harry (Donna), Bill, Jerry, Fred, Joan, Clara (Ken), Bob (Dorothy), Ken (Pat), Calvin (Deanna) and Ron (Maggie); 47 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters Emily and Florence. Prayers will be said on Thursday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held Friday, May, 23, at 1;00 p.m. also in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with cremation to follow. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
