She fought hard, but it was not to be. Waiting for her with open arms and a cup of tea is Dad, Fred Colston, dear friend, Brett Blix, her favourite Aunts, Meryl Mayer and Noreen Hulme and baby brother, Graham. Left behind to miss her are her children David and Mandy; grandchildren Kristin and Landen; mother June Colston; sister Christine Katrick (Ron) and nieces Laurie (Ray Lowe) and Heather (Rob Ellison, Cheyenne and Zack); Landen's Mom Linda Sawatzky, and favourite cousins Phillip and Janet Guildford in Calgary. Jenny was born in Cardiff, Wales and emigrated with her parents and sister in 1957. She married Frank in 1966 and lived at CFB Rivers, Portage la Prairie, Dartmouth, NS and Edmonton before returning to Winnipeg with David and Mandy. She was employed for many years with CFB Winnipeg, 1 CAD, in the Public Affairs office, before having to go on disability due to her illness. Many thanks to the Grace Cancer Clinic and especially Dr. Harris and nurses Kathy and Holly. Thank you to Dr. F. J. Ross for his exceptional medical care for the past 20 years. A very special thank you goes to the terrific nurses at the Grace Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. At Jenny's request, cremation has taken place, a memorial service celebrating Jennifer's life will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to the Grace Hospice, Osborne House or Siloam Mission would be appreciated. When all was quiet And we were sad Thinking of the Times we'd had A butterfly Then came to us Flew around Without a rush Showed us how She'd been set free Drifting off Where we can't see Helped us know She's on her way We'll treasure this Each passing day.
