During the Second World War, Ian served as an air navigator flying patrols over the North Sea in Avro Ansons with 208 Squadron and later in Catalinas based from India with 280 Squadron, RAF. He was an active member of the Wartime Pilots and Observers Association for many years. Ian touched many people in his long life. Ian was predeceased by his beloved first wife Helen, second wife Shirley, brother Alan and sister Jean. He leaves his daughter Carole and sons Donald and David, daughter-in-law Helen and grandson Michael, numerous other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will following in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of the Poseidon Personal Care home for the care they gave Ian during his final years.
