Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADOLPH RATTAI On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Adolph Rattai passed away peacefully at his home in Beausejour at the age of 94 years. Adolph's family was the most important thing in the world to him, and we will so greatly miss his guiding wisdom, sense of humour, and intelligence. He will be lovingly remembered and very sadly missed by Helen, his beloved wife of 72 years; his children Florence Regehr and Richard (Pat) Rattai; grandchildren Carol (Farley) Pollock, David (Beth) Regehr, Debbie (Rick) Stefansson and Kevin (Shelley) Rattai; and his treasured great-grandchildren Kristin Pollock, Bryden and Sara Regehr, Torrie, Kaylee and Shaylyn Stefansson, and Sheyanne and Abby Rattai. He was predeceased by a precious great-grandson James Regehr in 1990, and his eight siblings. He will be very fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family, family friends, and community members, particularly in the farming community. Born in Green Bay on March 25, 1914 to Gustave and Leocadia, Adolph was the last of nine children. On October 13, 1935 he married the love of his life, Helen Banash and they established their farm in the Green Oak area where they raised two wonderful children together, Florence and Richard. Adolph's life was full; he was a dedicated and progressive farmer, a committed socialist, an ardent farm unionist, a school board trustee, and a member of the local Manitoba pool elevator board, amongst many other boards and committees he served on over the years. He was our mentor as he farmed in Green Oak, inspiring us with his good business sense, wisdom and charity. Always a believer in the goodness of humanity, he was an example of decency, integrity, hard work, and common sense, always working for the good of the community and the love of family. A celebration of Adolph's life will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Brokenhead Recreational Complex, 320 Veterans Lane, Beausejour, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour Hospital or the SIDS Foundation. Adolph is at peace. His life is complete. We'll miss him forever and only wish he could have stayed longer with us. He will always be remembered and loved.
