Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUY LAND November 5, 1924 July 14, 2008 Peacefully with his family at his side, Guy passed away at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mildred, children, Donna Hudson, David Land (Florida), Lori (Bob) Shaw (Denver), Sheri (Mike) Chmelnytzki, Erin Land, grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelly) Hudson, Steven Hudson, Krystal and Ashley Land, Derek and Kevin Shaw, Cody, Matthew and Kelsey Chmelnytzki, Lars Akre, Anders Land, brother, Willard (Gerry) Land, sisters-in-law, Eva Kaake (North Delta, BC), Bernice Johnson (Edmonton) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Guy was predeceased by his parents, (1961, 1974) Sister Eileen Land, (2007) and great- grandson Adam Hudson, July 2, 2008. Guy retired from Air Canada in June 1987 after 30 years of service. He was devoted to his family and he adored all of his children and grandchildren. He would light up whenever they entered a room. Guy was an avid 5 pin bowler for over 40 years and bowled 3 perfect games . He loved music and dancing, golfing and traveling. His favorite holiday spot with Mil was to sunny Barbados. His most memorable vacation was to Sweden in 1985 where he had a chance to meet many of Mil's relatives. Guy and Mil had many happy times at the Scandinavian Centre playing whist and attending numerous social functions with their friends. He was a former member of Bleak House and enjoyed many cribbage games over the years. We would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their excellent care of Dad for almost two years. We are forever grateful for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A private family service was held Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Neil Bardal Inc., with Reverend Hugo Unruh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Guys memory to the Alzheimer's Society, or charity of choice.
