PATRICK JAMES BEEL January 11, 1956 - July 20, 2008 Loving Brother and Uncle. It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Patrick after a lengthy battle with CHF. Patrick was born and raised in Winnipeg. After high school he spent a short time working in the mines in Thompson. Realizing this was not his calling he applied for a position with the Provincial Government. Patrick worked for the Department of Transportation and Government Services (Bridges and Structures). His last position was as a Senior Bridge Inspector. He loved the independence, travel and responsibility that he had with this position. Patrick enjoyed working with his fellow mates and logged in over 30 years of service. Patrick was an avid Bombers fan and also liked watching hockey games. He enjoyed collecting unique coins and stamps. A special place for Patrick was his farm in Fraserwood, MB. Patrick was predeceased by his parents Doreen (1996) and Pat (2001). He will be sadly missed by his sisters Wendy (Tom), Heather (Dave), his Aunt Joan (Alvin) and many nephews and nieces. Sincere thanks to Patrick's health care workers, Joie, Raoul and Al for the kindness and respect that they showed Patrick over the last few months. Thanks to Nick, Patrick's good friend, for all his calls that brightened Patrick's day. Special thanks to Wendy who was always there when Patrick needed her. No task was too great or too small. She helped with a loving heart and willing hand during his palliative care at home. Our special moments with him will bring healing laughter, through grieving tears. As per Patrick's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers donations in Patricks name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Meals on Wheels.
