GLADYS CLAIRE BROWN (nee HIGGINBOTHAM) Peacefully, on July 28, 2008, Gladys passed away Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 88. She is survived by her daughters Heather (Eyolfson), Patricia (Harrison), their families, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her remaining sister Marion, along with many nieces, nephews and special friends. Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, in 1988. Gladys was born in Oak Lake, MB, on November 9, 1919. After receiving her training as an L.P.N., she enjoyed a long nursing career, caring for people of all ages. She had very fond memories of working with many highly skilled doctors. Gladys also volunteered for different organizations over the years. A particularly exciting, and meaningful event for her was her time spent volunteering with the Pan Am Games held in Winnipeg. Growing up with nature Gladys enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, sharing her love of trees, birds, and animals. Her passion and talent for classical and sacred music was strong throughout her life. She shared her musical ability with family, singing with many church choirs, and attending beloved concerts.
