DENIS PREFONTAINE Peacefully, after a long battle with cancer on August 9, 2008, surrounded by his family, Denis passed away. Remaining to forever cherish Denis' memory are his sister Mariette (Leonard), brother Richard (Joan), nephew Charles with whom he was especially close, as well as many other nieces and nephews; last but not least his furry friend Fred. Denis was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Emilie (Dandenault), sisters Helene and Lucille and brothers Paul and Raymond. Denis was born in St. Pierre, MB and moved with his family to Winnipeg in 1969. He was employed with the Health Sciences Centre for many years. Over the years Denis developed a close friendship with his neighbours Ken and Phyllis. Denis and Ken shared many good visits together. We would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit and the Grace Hospice for taking such excellent care of Denis. In keeping with Denis' wishes no funeral service will be held and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
