Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN DOROTHY PRUDEN (nee CLAY) Peacefully on August 23, 2008, at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, Eileen Pruden, aged 87 years, of Winnipeg, beloved wife of the late Gordon Pruden. Eileen was born in Winnipeg on November 11, 1920, eldest child of the late William and Nellie Clay and sister of the late Ron Clay. Eileen was employed with the provincial government and worked in many departments. She served as Duff Roblin's secretary for many years and retired from public service in the position of editor of Education Manitoba magazine. She was an avid reader and author which lead to her close involvement with the Canadian Authors Association, Manitoba Historical Society, Red River Historical Society, Prairie Public Television and Manitoba Teacher's Society's teacher exchange program. Eileen enjoyed many hours in her gardens. She was a charitable woman who donated to a wide variety of charities. Eileen enjoyed the many trips with her husband to England and Scotland to visit relatives and see historical sites. She leaves to cherish her memory son Jeffery (Barb) of Winnipeg; daughters, Brenda Jardine (Mason) of Russell, Man., Janice Jones (Laird) of Winnipeg and Sheila Pruden (Primus) of Toronto; one brother-in-law Lorne of Winnipeg and seven grandchildren, Amethyst (Kris), Beryl, Shannon (Travis), Veda, Andrew, Nola and Simon and great-grandchildren Eloise, Sinead and Ruth. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m at Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Smith Street and Graham Avenue (use Smith Street entrance) with Rev. Henry Falconer officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Clements Cemetery by the immediate family. Special thanks to the staff of Tuxedo Villa, the many care givers from We Care Home Health Services and Tamara of Orchid Florists. We realize not all of those who met and helped us are named here, though your efforts are equally appreciated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
