YOLANDA TISOT It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and nona. Yolanda Tisot was born in Forli, Italy September 18, 1921 she was predeceased by her husband Giovanni Tisot and mother Irma Bazzocchi. She leaves behind her daughters Julie Tisot-Currens and Gloria Thompson. Grandchildren Niki Tisot (Michael, Romeo), Debbie Thompson (Glen), Patrick Thompson (Corrie) and Shannon Thompson. Brother Franco Bazzocchi (wife Augusta, nieces and nephews) and her little dog Theo, the companion and guardian angel that was always by her side. Our mother and nona was the matriarch of our family. She gave us strength, devotion, love and scolding in her colourful Italian way. She and Giovanni (John) immigrated to Canada in 1950 after he fought in the Second World War, bringing with them their two young daughters. Their path was not an easy one, three years after arriving Giovanni suffered a stroke and was paralyzed. With great strength and determination she lead the family forward with her love, always striving for a better way of life and working hard to achieve it... and that she did. In later years she and nono would travel to back home to Italy on a regular basis now bringing with them their young granddaughter Niki. Friuli was their place and Friulano their language. She leaves behind a legacy that will echo into eternity, to the world she was someone but to us she was the world. We would like to thank the second floor staff and a very special thanks to Bruce and Chris in ICU at Concordia Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 9 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, R3C 4G2, or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, 600 - 60 Clair Avenue, East, Toronto, ON., M4T 1N5.
