HENRY (HANK) HIEBERT On October 7, 2008 Hank passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital with his nephew Ron Brown at his side. Hank was predeceased by his wife of 22 years Ida (from Neepawa), his sisters Alvina, Tina, Ann and his brother Peter. Hank is survived by his sisters Mary, Helen and many devoted nieces and nephews. Hank was born on July 2, 1927 in Steinbach, Manitoba. Hank was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces where he worked as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force. During his military posting to Germany Hank and Ida traveled Europe extensively. They made Winnipeg their permanent home in 1970. Hank enjoyed his hobbies of tinkering with anything mechanical and loved fishing, especially in his favourite location of Lake of the Prairies. In his latter years he became the family expert in computers. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Seven Oaks for their care and support. Also a special thanks to his nephews Ken Donkersley and Ron Brown. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Family and friends are welcome to attend the internment at Brookside Cemetery at 3001 Notre Dame on Tuesday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba.
