GLADYS EMILY MAY THOMPSON September 30, 1919 - December 13, 2008 Gladys Thompson of Flin Flon, MB passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Gladys is survived by her only daughter Dorothy (Wayne) Chamberlin; her grandchildren, Keri (Brent), Curtis, Patrick (Angie); her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Megan, Marley Robinson, Curtis, Colton and Ellie Chamberlin, Tanner, Noah and Hudson Chamberlin; her brothers and sisters, Bill Morgan, Vera Bell, Vernon Morgan, Margaret (Jim) Barker, Helen (Jim) Elko, John (Evelyn) Morgan, Mary (Chuck) Carlson and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband John Thompson; sister Jean and brother Charlie, and her parents, Bill and Mae Morgan. Mom was born in Reading, England, September 30, 1919 and came to Canada when she was six months old and settled in Outlook, SK for a short time. Later she moved to Hudson Bay, SK where she grew up on the family farm. Being the oldest of 10 children, Mom led her life by example. Always loving, caring, her family was most important to her. Special occasions were remembered by a lovely card or phone call. She loved to bake and her buns, short bread and ginger snap cookies were the best. Some of Mom's hobbies were curling, bowling, gardening, picking blueberries. Mom's favourite N.H.L. team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. She loved music - Daniel O'Donnell and Lawrence Welk were her favourites. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Northminister Memorial United Church, 250 Bracken St., Flin Flon, MB with Rev. Greg Parker officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons, Curtis Chamberlin, Patrick Chamberlin, granddaughter Keri Robinson, great-grandson Trevor Robinson, great-granddaughter Megan Robinson and Tony Smida. Keri Robinson gave the euology in remembrance of her grandmother Gladys Thompson. Dadson Funeral Home Crematorium were entrusted with the arrangements. Mother To one who bears the sweetest name And adds luster to the same Long life to her For there is no other who takes The place of my Dear Mother!
