KLAUS RUDOLF BECKER Unexpectedly, on Saturday, January 10, 2009, Klaus died at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 77 years. He was born in Wurzen, Germany, on February 2, 1931. Klaus was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife Ingeborg, his three children, Dorothy (Brian), Ronald (Cathy), Christine (David) and his three grandchildren, Joy, Bradley and Alexandra. He is also survived by his sister Christa in Germany. Klaus was a kind and caring man, who loved his family and was respected by all those who knew him. Klaus came to Canada from Germany in 1951 and settled in Winnipeg. He worked for over 30 years at Zolmark Industries. He enjoyed his early retirement, including the activities of gardening, the outdoors, swimming and especially visiting with his children and grandchildren. Spending time at the lake, especially on Lake Winnipeg, (Grand Beach), was very special to him. Klaus was very active at St. Peter's Lutheran Church for 50 years and it was through his volunteer work at this church that he and Ingeborg met and were married on July 2, 1960. His volunteer work included serving on several committees and facilitating various worship services. He also visited many people over the years, including the shut-ins, the sick and the elderly. Klaus was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed. We love you. A memorial service will take place on Friday, January 16, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1N9 or the Canadian Lutheran World Relief, 1080 Kingsbury Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2P 1W5. • Klaus was a kind man. He was my Foreman at Zol-mark Industries for many years. He taught me lots of things. He was a nice kind soul. And a true friend and a Mentor of mine. A very fair decent man. - Posted by: Brad Smith (Friend work mate) on: Jan 20, 2017
