Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABEL BECKETT (nee BUSHIE) Baa Paa Pee Dunn Ikwe April 18, 1942 February 2, 2009 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Isabel Beckett, beloved wife of Ray and mother of Claude. In addition to her husband and son Isabel also had a special place in her heart for her grandniece Cally, granddaughter Sara and grandson Megis. Isabel will be sadly missed by her brothers Les (Burma), Harvey (Margaret), Alec (Bernice), Garf (Gloria) and sister Jean Bird (Freeman) as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Isabel has left this world to join her mother Bella, father George and brother Lawrence whose spirits are always with us and who have taken her into their arms. Isabel was born and raised in Hole River, Manitoba leaving to attend residential school and commercial college. After marriage she lived for a time in Bissett, Powerview, Moose Lake, Manigotagan and Rice River, finally settling in Hole River. She always found a great deal of strength and comfort in her Catholic Faith. In her younger days when her health was better, Isabel gave countless hours to her Church in many different ways. She gave marriage preparation classes to young couples, sang at Sunday Masses, attended Church retreats, helped organize fund raising and helped with the upkeep of the Church. Auntie Isabel (Gail) was a woman of many talents with a strong, loving spirit. She enjoyed the simple life of family, faith, friends and community. She will be remembered as the family historian, avid puzzle maker, plant lover, enjoyed the outdoors and camping, crotcheter, marriage counselor and collector connoisseur. Rice River was a special place for Isabel, holding many wonderful memories both in childhood and into her later years. From her house on the hill, auntie Isabel was always a reliable source of community event updates, a safe haven for nieces and nephews, young and old, a very good source of rare and hard to find scavenger items, a wonderful place to visit whether in her warm comfortable home in the winter or just on the outside deck in the summer. Auntie Isabel was always there, she was a strong foundation in our family. Auntie Isabel had a way of making each and everyone special , she always had time for anyone who came to her and she was more than willing to lend a helping hand. She always had a lesson to be learned in the stories she shared. Isabel had a strong devotion to her husband, son and family. Being the eldest girl in the family, she welcomed responsibility of keeping check in her own humorous and comforting way. Isabel will be sadly missed and forever remembered for her great contribution to all of our lives. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the MICU at the Health Science Centre for the compassion given to Isabel in her short time there as well to Fr. Paradis for all of his spiritual support, a special thank you to the friends and family for the visits and the words of comfort. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hollow Water Band Hall, Hollow Water, Manitoba with Fr. F.
