VERNA BESSIE PRICE (nee SKIPPER) Passed away peacefully at the age of 97 in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 5, 2009. She was born in Portage La Prairie on November 21, 1911 To Alfred and Violetta (Butcher) Skipper. Verna married Samuel Ross Price in January 1933, at Pathlow, Saskatchewan. They then moved to Ontario, settling at Price's Corners where they raised six daughters. After her husband passed away suddenly in February 1956 Verna moved to Flin Flon, MB where some of her siblings lived. She then lived in Winnipeg, Grandview, Glen Ewen, SK, Carnduff, SK, Brandon and back to Winnipeg about 30 years ago. She made lasting friendships in all these locations. She leaves to mourn daughters Betty (John), Penticton, BC, Gwen, Mississauga, ON, Dollene (John), Mono Mills, ON, Sadie (Ollie), Chester Basin, NS, Merle (Bob), Innisfil, ON, and Dorothy (Jack), Grandview, MB; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and special friend Kathy. Memorial Service held in the lounge at her residence on 125 Carriage Rd. on Thursday February 12 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at a later date in Ontario.
