JAMES EDWARD POITRAS 1960 - 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Edward Poitras on March 16, 2009. Jim was a loving father, son, brother and husband. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, Sydney, Sophea and Michelle; parents; Isabell and Wallace, siblings Tracy, Cory, Cynthia (Todd) and nephew Liam. Jim was born in Brandon on March 4, 1960. He grew up in Winnipeg where he attended Grant Park High. Jim loved a variety of sports, especially running and hockey. After graduation, Jim lived in Kelowna, BC for a few years. He returned to Winnipeg before making Portage la Prairie his home. Jim worked for HiTec Industries. Jim's world revolved around his daughters. He was very proud of them and loved their many activities and friends. Jim touched the lives of many friends and relatives who will mourn his passing. Our deepest appreciation to Jim's friend Tracy. To honour Jim's wishes there will be no funeral service. A get-together will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 530 Second Street, N.W., Portage la Prairie, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. R3E 0V9 Attention: Pediatric Care, would be appreciated.
