EDITHA GALUPE PUNLA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved wife and mother Editha Galupe Punla on March 25, 2009, at the age of 64 years. She was predeceased by her parents Emmanuel and Rosalina Galupe. She leaves to mourn her husband Robert Punla and her only son Richie. Editha is also lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters, Lily (Silvino), Abenoja, Norberto (Saria) Galupe, Arturo (Aurora) Galupe, Pia (Ray) Vinluan, Clarina (Neil) Herelle, Nenita (Rodolfo) Pagaduan, and Bobby (Josephine) Galupe, along with a plethora of nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Toronto, and San Pedro, Philippines. Editha will also be remembered and cherished by numerous friends and relatives, whose lives she has touched. Editha immigrated to Winnipeg in December of 1973. She worked as a seamstress and worked towards bringing her mother and younger siblings to Winnipeg in 1976. She worked at Mid-West garments for over 25 years. She married Robert on November 27, 1982 and had her son Richie on October 3, 1983. The family wishes to thank Dr. Marianne Krahn and the nurses and staff at CancerCare at St. Boniface General Hospital for the care and support they provided Editha and her family the last three years. Editha was so special and unique. She had a big heart and was loved and deeply respected by everyone she met. Editha will be very missed and will always be remembered. Lamay services will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3, 2009 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). The funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Rd. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre.
