PETER KENNETH BECK June 25, 1944 - April 19, 2009 After a courageous battle with cancer and in the presence of loved ones, Peter Kenneth Beck peacefully passed away on the morning of April 19, 2009. Peter is survived by his loving wife Beverly, his children Brian (Leanne) Lahn, April (Linda) Lahn-Ladobruk, Tammy (Dennis) Taylor, Kendra (Dan) Fontaine, Billie-Jo (Marlan) Williams, Jeff (Michelle) Hood, and Ryan (Jodie) Hood. His grandchildren Hugh, Jordan, Taylynn, Cody, Samantha, Andrew, Justin, Alexandre, Eric, Christina, Travis, and Darlene also survive him. Peter was born in Brighton, England and made the long journey to Canada with his mother (Ethel) and brother (Brian) in 1953, where they settled in the Birtle area of Manitoba. After he was done with school, he travelled to Winnipeg and Thunder Bay before finally settling in Winnipeg again, in 1993. Peter had many passions that he undertook with much zeal. He loved curling, slow-pitch baseball, volunteering, and watching his children and grandchildren partake in various sporting and recreational activities. Even as his health began to suffer, Peter continued to curl with his friends and found time and energy to help coach blind curlers here in Manitoba. Peter's love of travel took him to many far-away destinations, which he took particular delight in sharing with his beloved wife, Beverly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will long be remembered for his kind, supportive, generous, and gentle nature. He will be missed. Funeral services are to be held Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Meadowood United Church, 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba (675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9) or a charity of your choice. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
