DOROTHY (DOT) BROWN 1921 - 2009 Peacefully, with her sister Bunny at her bedside, Dot passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home on Thursday, May 21, 2009. She is survived by her siblings Bunny Knysh, Louise Stevenson and Cliff (Rose) Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dot was predeceased by brothers Paul, Charlie, Bill, Albert, Ed, and Ernie; sisters Elsie, Lena, Addie, and Lily; and her parents Paul and Ann Brown. Dot was known to all as a fiercely independent and proud lady who would tackle anything. She was especially proud of her large and extended family. Her love of sports and competitive nature were well known by family and friends. After a stroke five years ago Dot found it very difficult when she lost much of her independence. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Maples Personal Care Home who cared for Dot during her final years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dot's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Christian Centre, 230 Provencher Blvd.,Winnipeg, MB, R2H 0G5.
