ROBERT (BOB) HICKS It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bob on May 26, 2009. Predeceased by his son Robert Jr., he leaves to mourn his wife Margaret (Peggy) of 63 years, son Russell (Edith), daughter Barbara Warga (Charlie), daughter-in-law Diana, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bob was born in Roseland, MB on June 21, 1918. He served with the R.C.A.S.C. in England and Italy as a dispatch rider during the Second World War. He was employed with the City of Winnipeg in the repair shops for 36 years. After his retirement Bob enjoyed many happy summers at his cottage at Hillside Beach making Cedar lawn furniture and end tables. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
