MARJORIE ESME THOMAS On May 25, 2009, at the Riverview Health Centre, Marjorie Esme Thomas passed away at 95 years of age. Predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd, Marjorie was born in England in 1914, and came to Winnipeg with her mother and brother when she was 10 years old, her father having died serving in the First World War. Marjorie is survived by her son Robert (Ruth), three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Alison), Robyn (Brad) Chase, and David; four great-grandchildren, Max and Lauren Thomas and Jackson and Emma Chase, and a sister, Violet (Bill) Renkewitz. Marjorie was predeceased by a brother, Reg Rippon. In 1979, Lloyd and Marjorie retired to Victoria, BC. They returned to Winnipeg in 1989 to be with family and lived in the Courts of St. James and then Lion's Manor until Lloyd's death in January 1997. Marjorie has lived, and been very well taken care of, at the Riverview Health Centre since October, 1997. A celebration of her life will be held at the Chapel at Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
