EMILIA (EMILY) TURICK On Saturday, August 8, 2009, Emily passed away at Victoria Hospital at the age of 83 years. Emily is survived by two daughters Lorna (Fred) Vorlop of Coquitlam, BC and Georgina (David) Adolfson of Anola, MB; two sons Clifford (Janice) Turick of Kelowna, BC and Brian (Stephanie) Turick of Winnipeg, MB. Emily very much loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they meant a lot to her: six grandchildren Valaria (Tom) Vorlop, Todd (Renata) Turick, Rodney (Julia) Turick, Daniel (Tammie) Adolfson, Kelly Adolfson and Keenan (Monika) Adolfson; four great-grandchildren, Carl, Steven, Quinn and Logan. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-granddaughter. Emily is also remembered by special friend Walter Bzovy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Steve (1984); two brothers and two sisters. Emily Turick was born in the Rama, Saskatchewan area November 1, 1925. She married Steve Turick in March 1944, settling in the Vita, MB area. They moved to Winnipeg in 1954. Emily worked at Eaton's from 1962 to 1992, retiring at age 67. She enjoyed her cottage at Winnipeg Beach, spending her summers there. Emily enjoyed travelling, taking bus tours to such places as Newfoundland and several trips down into the United States. Emily was active-gardening, knitting, playing bingo, and attending Knights of Columbus functions, up until her health began to deteriorate. The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital, fourth floor for the compassionate care given to Emily. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue with Rev. Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment to follow in Thomson in the Park Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
