MARINO BJARNI NORDAL Peacefully on October 27, 2009 at the Lundar Personal Care Home, Marino Bjarni Nordal, aged 82 years, of Lundar, MB. Marino was born on May 10, 1927 in Lundar, MB. He farmed all his life in the Mary Hill District until he suffered a stroke in 1999 which left him paralyzed and unable to continue to farm. In March, 2000, he moved to the Lundar Personal Care Home where he resided until his passing. In his younger years when farming, he was a good friend to his neighbours always providing them support when needed. He never refused his help to anyone whether it be work on the land, mechanical work or just helping someone to move. Marino travelled to Iceland in 1998 and 1999 which was a highlight in his life. He is survived by his sister Gwen (Morley) Buckwold of Vancouver, BC, his brother Norman (Eleanor) of Beiseker, AB along with his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Bjarni in 1970 and his mother Sigurlaug in 1968. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lundar Personal Care Home, PO Box 296, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Lundar Personal Care Home for the wonderful care they gave Marino during his stay.
