JUDY RAWDON In loving memory of our wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Judy Rawdon, who left us peacefully on November 3, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Keith, of 31 years, daughter Amanda (Ryan), sons: Jonathon and Adam (Kelsey), and grandchildren: Blake and Hayden. Judy is also survived by her parents: Henry and Helen, sisters: Phyllis (Ralston) and Ellen, brother Ivan, parents-in-law: Ken and Shirley, brothers-in-law: Gordan (Terri) and Glen (Roma), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and colleagues. Judy was born in Grunthal, Manitoba but grew up in Winnipeg. She would eventually meet the love of her life, Keith, and together they would raise a family full of love. Judy was recognized for her contribution and dedication to the Winnipeg Police Service, of which she retired from in September of 2004, to spend some quality time with her children, grandchildren and to explore the world. Judy loved to spend time in her garden. In a world where conflict and pain seemed to surround us, Judy worked to create a place where peace and beauty reigned. Judy was a beautiful pianist and also an avid fan of the British soap opera, Coronation Street, whose themed music became a familiar and comforting sound in her home. Judy, along with her husband Keith, loved to travel the world together. They explored many countries in Europe, and enjoyed five cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, New Zealand, and Australia. Judy instantly fell in love with the unforgettable experiences that cruise ships provided. In her spare time Judy would organize her life's memories through scrapbooking, and she would express her creativity with her home-made cards, each one unique and special. Judy lived a life full of accomplishment. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by so many. She left us too soon but we take comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering and that you are at peace. We will love and remember you always. The family would like to thank all those who helped in so many ways over the past four months. We are forever grateful to the staff of the St. Boniface Palliative Care Ward for their knowledge and compassionate care of both Judy and her family during her stay. Special thanks to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program. Also, a special thanks to the many friends and family for their kindness, care and support during this difficult time. A celebration of Judy's life will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home located at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy's name to CancerCare Manitoba to help support research to develop more effective means of controlling and curing the disease. GOLDEN HEART God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, So He put His arms around you and whispered Come to Me . With tearful eyes we watched you, as we saw you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your Golden Heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
