Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINA RANKIN (nee ZROBOK) January 6, 1927 - November 7, 2009 Peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre. Lina was predeceased by her parents Theodore (Fred) and Sennie Zrobok; brothers and sisters Alec Zrobok, Casey Zrobok, Peter (Mary) Zrobok, Theodore (Jim) Isaac, Mary (Steve) Romano, Adeline (Peter) Hoshwa, Jo-Anne Zrobok and brother-in-law Des Fleurie. Survived by her oldest sister Eva Fleurie of Fort Frances and sister-in-law Bertha Zrobok of Kenora. Lina leaves behind her husband of 55 years, John, children Jim, Patti (Randy Wood), Russ (Kim), Maureen (Jeff Roy), grandchildren Dustin (Joslyn), Blythe, Chris, Ryan, Samantha, Dylan, Braeden and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Kenora and moved to Winnipeg when she married John on May 8, 1954 and raised their four children. Her happiest times were spent during her summers at Black Sturgeon Lake; as a teenager and then throughout her adult life. The summers at the cabin were filled with laughter and joy, surrounded by her sister, brothers, cousins, and family making memories and sharing good times. Mom led a full and active life: Wednesday afternoon bowling at Garry Lanes and over 40 years of volunteering with Catholic Women's league, Girl Guides, Westridge Community Club and Ralph Maybank School. Mom will be best remembered by her faith, optimism in life and her never ending stories. Our thanks to the EMS and numerous health care staff at Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and loving care. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 7:45 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Vital Parish Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. with Father Barry Schoonbaert as the celebrant.
