IRENE M. BUTRA (nee BARNABE) With deepest sadness we wish to share the passing of our mother and grandmother Irene on November 21, 2009. She has left us here to be reunited with husband Eddie and her family. Mom left this world on her terms as she wanted, quietly and with dignity. Mom has left behind many cherished memories for her children Joan (Gregg Demetrioff), Paul Butra (Rose Heisz), Susan (Daryl Klassen). Her greatest joys in life were her four grandchildren, Trish (Jeff Wilde), Richard (Sabrina Demetrioff), Jason Klassen and Lindsey Klassen. Irene was predeceased by Eddie in 1990 after almost 39 years of marriage. Mom enjoyed travelling the world, knitting gorgeous items for her family, baking bread and helped create those special memories that her grandchildren will cherish their entire lives. Our family wanted to thank Irene's baby sister Cecile and brother-in-law Willie Morris for helping us with Mom over the past years. Through you she was able to experience a life beyond her four walls. Thank you to Bethania Personal Care Home and the staff at the Irene Barron Eden Center for her care over the past 18 months. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the White Fathers, in care of 151 Despins Street, Winnipeg, R2H 0L7 or to a charity of your choice.
